Safety and Regulations

What the rules say about this job, and how a properly built scaffold meets them.

Planned, supervised, competent

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 require work at height to be properly planned, supervised and carried out by competent people, after the risks are assessed. A scaffold built for the building and its loads is part of that plan.

Inspected on completion and at least weekly

HSE says the law requires inspection of scaffolding from which a person might fall 2 metres or more, with a report by a competent person on completion and at least weekly after that, and after bad weather or any modification.

Assume the roof is fragile

HSE says all roofs should be treated as fragile until a competent person has confirmed they are not, and that no sheeted roof, ridge or purlin should be assumed to support a person's weight. Industrial roofs are often sheeted, so access is planned from outside and below.

Paperwork your site manager expects

RAMS are available on request and can be tailored to your principal contractor's requirements. Tell us your site rules when you enquire.

How Long Does It Take?

Industrial scaffolds are planned to your programme: we agree erection, any alterations and the strike date up front. Smaller scaffolds on a unit go up in a day or two; larger or complex runs take longer, and we confirm this after the survey.

Pricing

Industrial scaffolding is priced individually. Size, height, access, loading, duration and documentation vary too much for a standard figure, so we survey the site and give you a clear, itemised quotation.

How It Works

  1. Tell us about the site

Call 01702 820468 or send the site address, the work being done and your programme.

  2. Survey and design

We visit, assess access, height and loading, and design the scaffold. RAMS are provided on request.

  3. Quotation

You receive a clear, itemised quotation aligned to your programme.

  4. Erection and handover

CISRS-qualified operatives erect to specification and hand over an inspection certificate.

  5. Checks, alterations and strike

The scaffold is checked through the hire, altered as the job progresses and struck on the agreed date.
